  • 1. AN SSSR, Chernogolovka (Russian Federation). Otdelenie Inst. Khimicheskoj Fiziki

Description

Crystal structure of (C6N2H18)(HfF5)2x4H2O(1), formed by bridge dimer complex anions [Hf2F10(H-2O)2]2-, cations [NH3(CH2)6NH3]2+ and crystallization water molecules, has been ascertained. Coordination polyhedron of Hf is a slightly distorted pentagonal bipyramid, one of its equatorial plane vertices being occupied by coordinated molecule of H2O, the rest vertices by F atoms. Via common equatorial rib F-F the Hf polyhedrons join in dimers. The crystals of 1 belong to monoclinic crystal system, sp.gr. P21/n. Unit cell parameters are as follows: a=8.853(3), b=7.874(3), c=13.149(5)A, beta=92.07(3), d(calcldi)=2.67. Refs. 7, figs. 3, tabs. 3
