Present situation of proving tests on effectiveness of inservice inspection
Description
First a review is given of the present situation of a long term test project ''Proving Tests on the Effectiveness of ISI'', and then the paper deals with up-to-date results of UT examination on sizing of a fatigue crack and an EDM notch and on inside distance determination of plural aligned surface cracks during fatigue. Also described are the effects of tensile and compressive loads applied to crack surfaces upon UT detectability
