Improvement of operating reliability and service life of WWER-1000 RCPS AE

Description
The ways of providing high operating life for control elements of WWER-1000 reactors are considered, including the following: improvement of absorber member design; application of radiation-resistant absorber materials; application of radiation-resistant cladding materials. It is suggested that combined and shortened absorber members be used, as well as a shielding clad and an additional gas collector be incorporated in the absorber element design. The compositions of Dy2O3 · HfO2 + B4C, Dy2O3 · HfO2 and metallic hafnium are proposed as neutron absorbers, and steel 06Kh18N10T and chromium-nickel alloy EhP-630U as absorber element cladding materials. It is noted that to make good use of the potentialities the following procedures are required: to create inspection standards for testing current state of each individual control assembly; to develop calculation codes for control element state estimation depending on operating parameters; to make regular materials studies for spent control elements
Abstract (Russian)
Рассмотрены пути обеспечения высоких ресурсных характеристик органов регулирования реакторов ВВЭР-1000, в числе которых: усовершенствование конструкции пэлов; применение радиационностойких поглощающих материалов; применение радиационностойкого материала оболочек. Предлагается использование комбинированных и укороченных пэлов, а также включение в конструкцию пэла экранирующей оболочки и дополнительного газосборника. В качестве поглотителя нейтронов предлагается использовать композиции Dy2O3 · HfO2 + B4C, Dy2O3 · HfO2 и металлический гафний, для оболочек пэлов - сталь 06Х18Н10Т и хромоникелевый сплав ЭП-630У. Отмечено, что для эффективного использования возможностей, обеспеченных конструкцией и материалами, необходимо следующее: создание стендов инспекции для проверки текущего состояния каждой сборки; создание расчетных кодов для оценки состояния пэлов в зависимости от параметров эксплуатации; проведение регулярных материаловедческих исследований отработавших пэловAdditional details
