γ ray detection efficiency of BC-501A liquid scintillator

Description
The γ-ray detection efficiency of BC-501A detector was calculated using MARTHA M-C Code. The calculated results are coincident with the measured. The affection of aluminum container on detection efficiency increases with γ energy. For γ energy of 5 MeV, the ratio of detection efficiencies with and without the container is 1.35. The variance of the efficiencies with detection distances was studied. The accuracy of the calculated response functions was tested through handling the measured recoil electron spectrum from 24Na γ source
