Thermodynamics of TeO2 glass and glass-ceramics

  • 1. Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi, Varanasi (India)

Description

Glasses and their polar glass-ceramic forms can be used as thermal or pressure sensing element. In this report, TeO2 (tellurite glass and glass-ceramic) system's formation is studied by varying their quenching-cooling mediums. Following this, samples are prepared with different quenching rates as annealed at 200 °C, RT and ice-water and their formation is studied through thermal analysis. Through, the thermal behaviour, glass transition temperature and crystallization temperature are studied for the glass and glass-ceramics. (author)
