Description
The occupation of vacancy clusters formed during ionic irradiation by helium and hydrogen in α-Fe has been analysed by computer simulation. These two kinds of gas atoms compete with radiation vacancies, helium-vacancy clusters are temporarily filled by hydrogen, and this affects the formation of gas bubbles and lowers the hydrogen and helium permeability of the irradiated metals.
