Evidence for non-qq-bar mesons
Description
The non-Abelian nature of QCD suggests that particles that have a gluon constituent, such as glueballs or hybrids, should exist. In addition, qq-barqq-bar states are also predicted. A search for these non-qq-bar mesons is described, performed by experiment WA 76 using the CERN Omega Spectrometer, and three candidates are discussed which have been observed.
