Abstract Circular polarization with a maximum of 0.6 percent at 1.7 ,a has been detected for the infrared source NML Cyg. Circular polarization of 0.1 percent at 2.2 `a and 0.2 percent at 1.7 `a has been found for VV CMa. This indicates that the maximum circular polarization falis close to 1.0 `a at which wavelength Gehreis observed 0.4 percent. The linear polarization of several infrared sources and of the planet Mars has aiso been observed.
