Investigations on tensile strength by acoustic emission analysis

Description
Measuring processes of the linear-elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics are used to test materials and the individual welded seam regions of highly stressed constructions, such as reactor pressure vessels, for their notch impact strength and thus the danger of fast spreading of failure under stress. These methods are based on the measurement of the crack propagation of a pre-damaged sample. (orig./LH)

Zur Pruefung der Werkstoffe und der einzelnen Schweissnahtbereiche von hochbeanspruchten Konstruktionen, wie Reaktordruckbehaeltern, auf ihre Kerbempfindlichkeit und damit die Gefahr schneller Fehlerausbreitung unter Belastung hin, werden Messverfahren der linear elastischen und elastisch-plastischen Bruchmechanik herangezogen. Diese Verfahren beruhen auf der Messung des Rissfortschritts einer vorgeschaedigten Probe. (orig.)Additional details
