Asea-Atom today and tomorrow
Description
The aim of Asea-Atom is to continue to develop nuclear technology for nuclear power plants, nuclear fuel and nuclear maintenance. Its goal is to become more international and to gain strength through diversification. Sweden has one of the most successful nuclear power programs in the world. Nine of the twelve reactors are BWRs supplied by Asea-Atom. Two more have been exported to Finland. The technology has been developed in-house without dependence on foreign licenses. Among LWR suppliers outside the USA and USSR this is a unique achievement. The last two units of the Asea-Atom BWR 75 design are claimed to be the first Advanced Boiling Water Reactors in operation. 2 figs
