Description
The formation of hydrogen by radiolysis and its reactivity in gas mixtures under radiolytic conditions is of considerable significance for the safe design of transport and storage containers for radioactive waste. A report is presented on the radiolysis of stoichiometrical H2:O2 mixtures and of those with a surplus or admixtures of O2, Ar, N2 (dependence on γ dose, mixing proportion, temperature, pressure, pretreatment, reactor surface); the report also includes additives acting as inhibitors, activation processes, which lead to inflamation or a shift of explosion limit, as well as the model calculations done to this end. Fuer die sichere Auslegung von Transport- und Lagerbehaeltern fuer radioaktiven Abfall ist die radiolytische Bildung von Wasserstoff und dessen Reaktivitaet in Gasmischungen unter radiolytischen Bedingungen von erheblicher Bedeutung. Es wird ueber Ergebnisse zur Radiolyse von stoechiometrischen H2:O2-Mischungen und solchen mit Ueberschuss bzw. Zumischungen von O2, Ar, N2 (Abhaengigkeit von γ-Dosis, Mischungsverhaeltnis, Temperatur, Druck, Vorbehandlung, Reaktoroberflaeche) berichtet, ferner ueber als Inhibitoren wirkende Additive, ueber Aktivierungsvorgaenge, die zur Entflammung fuehren oder die Explosionsgrenze verschieben, sowie ueber hierzu durchgefuehrte Modellrechnungen.
