Current status and future perspective of time-resolved XAFS

  • 1. High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Inst. of Materials Structure Science, Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

The principles and the possible applications are described for the time-resolved XAFS techniques, i.e. Quick-XAFS (QXAFS), Dispersive XAFS (DXAFS), and pump-probe XAFS. The standard X-ray detectors for the conventional XAFS measurements can be used for QXAFS, while the DXAFS technique is a unique and powerful tool to observe non-reversible one-shot processes under the time resolution of the ms order. The sub-ns time-resolved XAFS measurements can be realized by the pump-probe XAFS technique utilizing the pulsed X-ray property of the PF-AR facility. (author)
