Description
Gas evolving at electrodes leads to complex fluid mechanics in any industrial electrolyzer. Residence time distribution (RTD) and tracer methodology can be applied in this respect with some modifications due to the acceleration of electrolyte in presence of gas bubbles. This paper presents an application of RTD for the design of a new two-phase flow electrolyzer devoted to the separation of radioactive products. (authors)
