Closing Address by Dohee Hahn - Draft [12. GIF-IAEA Interface Meeting, Vienna (Austria), 26-27 March 2018]

The continuation of this interface and cooperation between GIF and the IAEA helps create an important link between the IAEA's diverse efforts to support Member States, and an important international R&D collaboration among several leading nuclear technology developing nations. We also trust that these activities support IAEA member states in their efforts to reach the UN Sustainability Development Goals through considering nuclear power, and advanced reactor technologies, as they plan and revise their climate action plans periodically. The R&D efforts moving forward under Generation IV continue to push the forefront of reactor technology. They are an example of your effective cooperation and our continuing interface helps the IAEA in its mission to communicate progress and promote further international cooperation on innovations for peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
