Description

The authors give a self-consistent description of experimental yields of the 90Ym(7+) isomeric level in (n,γ), (n,p) and (n,α) reactions using statistical and gamma-cascade models. On the basis of 175Lu(n,γ)176Lum and 179Hf(n,2n)178Hfm2 reactions, they show that statistical modelling of the branching ratios of gamma transitions between discrete levels can be used to calculate the isomeric cross-sections of nuclei with unknown gamma decay schemes.
