Indirect evidence for the existence of a new element in meteorites and a few of its chemical properties

Description
The assumption that a part of the excess xenon observed in meteorites is connected with the fissioning of 244Pu is confirmed. Another part can perhaps occur in the fissioning of a volatile superheavy element which forms a covariant group with Tl and Hg and which is mainly concentrated in carbon and sulphide phases of meteorites. The thermodynamic properties identified of the superheavy element correspond to those expected for the element 113- ekathallium. (orig./LH)
Abstract (German)
Die Annahme, dass ein Teil des in Meteoriten beobachteten Xenonueberschusses mit der Spaltung von 244Pu zusammenhaengt, wird bestaetigt. Ein anderer Teil kann vielleicht bei der Spaltung eines fluechtigen ueberschweren Elementes entstehen, das mit Tl und Hg eine kovariante Gruppe bildet und sich vorwiegend in kohligen und sulfidischen Phasen der Meteorite konzentriert. Die identifizierten thermodynamischen Eigenschaften des ueberschweren Elementes entsprechen den fuer Element 113 - Ekathallium - erwarteten Eigenschaften. (orig.)Additional details
