Comparison between the equilibrium factor of radon and its progeny obtained by different techniques

Description
The equilibrium factor (F) between radon and its progeny had been determined using surface barrier detector, CR-39 solid state nuclear track detector and activated charcoal canister installed in large volume radon chamber semulinusly. Effect of environmental conditions on (F) value was also investigated. A comparison between different values of (F) shows that the values obtained by CR-39 and those obtained by SBD are in coherent agreement and are sensitive to the variation of environmental conditions. However F values obtained by activated charcoal canister was higher than those obtain by surface barrier detector and CR-39 by a constant factor. Radon equivalent dose calculated by different techniques are in agreement. (author)
