Linear helical-axis stellarator experiments

Description

We report research on straight, helical-axis , high-beta stellarator. Plasma configurations are generated by a 90 kV, 16 kJ 3-meter θ pinch (the High Beta Q Machine). The object is to study equilibrium and stability of the linear Heliac and also the simpler 1 = 1 stellarator. Initial experimental results are reported
