Description
This paper reports on the decay of the lowest energy superdeformed band which has now been established for a number of nuclei near A = 150, confirming predictions that these superdeformed nuclei exist. Multiple superdeformed bands found in a few of these nuclei in conjunction with studies of the superdeformed bands in the γ-ray continuum give some insight into the feeding and deexcitation process as a function of excitation energy above the yrast line. These are the first premises of a nuclear spectroscopy in the superdeformed minimum, one of the principle aims of the future 4π γ-ray detection equipments
