Modifications brought to DT 10 and DT 12 detectors for their use in soil control

Description
As the need has arisen at the Marcoule CEA site to be equipped with power-independent contamination monitors for floors, roads and, more generally, soils, the Marcoule radiation protection service has decided to use the existing control apparatus. For monitoring road βγ contamination, probes made of 3 B 17 counter racks have been used with 12 V / 100 V Electro-pullman commutator IPAB devices mounted on a jeep. The operator used the sensor behind the jeep in order to detect possible contamination of the road. As this apparatus was not very 'flexible', the possibility has been studied to use autonomous transistorized instruments such as DT 10 and DT 12 detectors made by Societe Intertechnique, for the monitoring of βγ contamination of roads, and for the monitoring of α and βγ contaminations of floors. These devices have been also completed with audio headsets for an easier operation
Abstract (French)
L'utilite s'etant fait sentir a Marcoule de disposer de controleurs de contamination de parquets ou, plus generalement, de sols, independants du secteur de distribution electrique, le S.P.R. s'est efforce d'utiliser dans la mesure du possible les appareils de controle en sa possession. Pour effectuer des controles de routes en βγ, des sondes constituees de rampes de compteurs 3 B 17 avaient ete utilisees en liaison avec des IPAB alimentes par commutatrice Electro-pullman 12 volts continus / 110 volts alternatifs montes sur jeep. L'utilisateur tenait la sonde derriere la jeep pour detecter, eventuellement, une contamination de la route en observant l'indication de l'IPAB. Cet appareillage ayant le defaut de manquer de souplesse, il a ete etudie la possibilite de se servir d'appareils autonomes transistorises, en l'occurrence DT 10 et DT 12 de la Societe Intertechnique, pour l'utilisation de sondes pour controles de routes en βγ et pour l'utilisation de sondes α et de sondes βγ de controles de parquets. De plus, ces appareils ont ete equipes de casques ecouteurs pour faciliter leur emploi. (auteurs)Files
