Description

Gamma-ray angular distributions and resonance strength measurements have been carried out on a resonance at epsilonsub(p)=3468+-3 keV in the reaction 54Fe(p,γ)55Co. The resonance at 8468+-2 keV decays to a state at 6068+-2 keV. These two levels have properties consistent with those expected of the analogue and antianalogue of the 3.81 MeV (Jsup(π)=9.2+) state in 55Fe. The analogue-antianalogue transition strength is found to be GAMMAsub(γ)(M1)=0.037+-0.009 eV(0.13+-0.3 W.u.). E1 transition rates to the ground state and a state at 2918 keV are measured to be 2.7+-0.6x10-4 W.u. and 1.3+-0.3x10-4 W.u., respectively. (Auth.)
