Reactions of metallocluster thiocomplexes of molybdenum (NH4)2Mo2S12 · 2H2O and (NH4)2Mo3S13 · 2H2O with chlorine and bromine

Description
Binuclear (NH4)2Mo2S12 · 2H2O and three-nuclear (NH4)2Mo3S13 · 2H2O thiocomplexes interact with chlorine and bromine in acetonitrile. The [Mo2(μ2-S2)2]6+ and [Mo3(μ3-S) · (μ2-S2)3]4+ fragments of the basic thiocomplexes are preserved at that. Conditions of preparing thiohalide complexes (Et4N)2Mo2S4Br8, (Et4N)2Mo3S7Br6, (NH4)2Mo2S4Cl8 and (NH4)2Mo3S7Cl6 · 2H2O with high yields were found. Complexes were characterized by IR and Raman spectra
