Ireland nuclear emergency system assessment

Ireland so far has no nuclear power plants to supply electrical energy needs. However, the countries around the Irish already have and operate nuclear power plants (NPP) that have the potential radiological impact to Ireland. Therefore, Ireland will need to build a national nuclear emergency system involving several agencies both central and local governments in dealing with nuclear emergency incident that occurred in the country around Ireland. Some government agencies involved in national emergency system and they have duty and function of each. Besides, Ireland has established a communication system with both international agencies, World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) related to nuclear emergency response that occurred in neighboring countries.
