Radiation levels in the secondary section of Muehleberg nuclear power station - Measures for its reduction in later boiling water reactor plants

Description

At Muehleberg nuclear power station, which was conceived according to the state of knowledge in the 1960's, investigations have been continuously carried out since commissioning in order to check the effectiveness in practice of design measures for radiation protection and to transfer the knowledge to new plants. The results are described in outline. The concept derived therefrom is described with the aid of typical arrangements for a new boiling water reactor plant. The possibilities for carrying out routine inspection of the secondary section during operation at power are indicated. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

In dem nach dem Wissensstand der 60er Jahre konzipierten KKW Muehleberg wurden seit Inbetriebsetzung laufend Untersuchungen durchgefuehrt, um die Wirksamkeit der getroffenen planerischen Strahlenschutzmassnahmen zu ueberpruefen und die Erkenntnisse auf neue Anlagen zu uebertragen. Die Ergebnisse werden uebersichtsmaessig beschrieben. Das daraus abgeleitete Konzept wird anhand von typischen Anordnungen fuer eine neue SWR-Anlage beschrieben. Die Moeglichkeiten fuer eine routinemaessige Inspektion des Sekundaerteils waehrend des Leistungsbetriebes werden beschrieben. (orig.)
