Study of the process of surface alloying of nickel alloys with tanthalum using contact or noncontact technigue
- 1. Moskovskij Avtomobil'no-Dorozhnyj Inst. (USSR)
Description
A method has been developed suitable for the tantalization of nickel heat-resistant alloys Eh437B and ZhSBK in the mixture of tantalum pentachloride and hydrogen using resistance heating. The results of micro-X-ray spectrum studies have shown that in the process of chemical heat treatment tantalum diffuses into the alloy to a depth of 215 mcm with the maxium concentration on the surface of the alloy. Comparison of the above method of tantalization with that using radiation heating indicates that preference should be given to a more flexible method of gas saturation in powder mixture
