Auto-oxidation of diphenylcadmium

  • 1. Gor'kovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR). Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Khimii

Description

The auto-oxidation of diphenylcadmium in tolyene is studied. Initial concentration of diphenyl-cadmium is from 0.02 up to 0.04 mol/l, oxygen pressure over the reaction mixture - from 300 up 50 500 mmHg. Considerable rate of auto-oxidation is observed at temperature higher than 50 deg C. The process ends at 80 deg C in the period of 100 hours. It is shown that the reaction of diphenylcadmium with oxygen in tolyene runs with formation of initial substance complex of 2:1. The complex is unstable, its transformation runs by the way of regrouping mainly in phenylphenoxyRTcadmium
