Effective interaction in microscopic description of direct processes in inelastic nucleon scattering
Creators
Description
In the microscopic description of direct processes taking place in inelastic nucleon scattering the use has been made of the consistency between the form of residual interactions and the average field chosen. The requirement of the separability of effective forces has made it possible to attain an analytic consistency and to derive the expression for the form factor of direct excitation of a single-phonon state in inelastic nucleon scattering. The expression derived enables one to calculate the excitation cross sections practically without using any fitting parameters. The results of calculations based upon such a self-consistent choice of residual interactions will practically coincide with results of calculations based upon the usual phenomenological approach
