Description
Structural and magnetic phase transitions in (CD3ND3)2CuCl4 are studied by means of neutron scattering and ac-susceptibility measurements. The crystallographic structure at 300 K is orthorhombic. In the temperature range 215 < approx. T < approx. 270 K a transition to a monoclinic phase takes place. Transition to ferromagnetic order is found at Tsub(c) = 8.84 K, the moments being directed 23 degrees out of the ab-plane. (orig.)
