Description
The MOWA is a mobile waste conditioning plant for treatment of liquid low and intermediate level β/γ-wastes and ion exchange resins with binders on basis cement or the Dow waste solidification process. MOWA 1 was developed by NUKEM in 1978-1979 based on experiences with mobile cementation since 1977 and is in active operation since 1982. 1983 a second equipment MOWA 2 has been built for NUCLECO S.P.A., Italy, this plant enables handling of cement or resin-material as binder for β/γ-wastes. The plants are described including the performance of the equipments and the obtained product qualities. (author)
