Study of fine lattice defects in ferromagnetic metals and alloys by magnetic and X-ray measurements
- 1. Okayama Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Science
Description
From measurements of X-ray diffuse scattering, an anomalous streak was observed along a 011-direction from a limited part of a Fe-Ni Invar alloy single crystal specimen only in a low temperature region below 100 K. This streak was caused by a local shear stress along (011)-plane. Various magnetic anomalies observed so far can be explained by considering the appearance of the local shear stress. In a Fe-Pd Invar alloy, a disc shape diffuse scattering was observed, while in a Fe-Pt Invar alloy, observed diffuse scattering was spherical. (author)
