Contribution to the study of water-soluble ions in aerosols of the city of Antananarivo

Description

The urban environment characterized by concentration accumulated activities (industries-heating-transports) polluted emission (chimney, silencer...) concentration in atmosphere and especially people exposed in effects. All this elements make that the urban people are confronted in increasing sanitary risk, especially for the most susceptible subject. Three places in Antananarivo are chosen to value ions soluble in water, in aerosols of the town by human activities especially in road transport. Samples analysis are presented like collected aerosols in filters. In order to value these pollutions, we used ''dichotomous'' samples to collect the particles and analysis method by ionic chromatography to analysis ions. With sampling system, it is possible to carry out collect to be allowed the separation of breathed and inhaled particles in two filters of different diameter. The aerosol are to be deduct in advance to 1,40m of ground. The filters impregnated into water without ions are waged during 30 minutes, to obtain samples representative after filtration. Some ions NH4+, Na+, Br- are lower in our detection limits. These are Ca2+ and S042- that the majority is collected from Antananarivo aerosols.

Abstract (French)

Le milieu urbain est caracterise par les concentrations cumulees d'activites (industries, chauffages, transports), d'emissions de polluants (cheminees, pots d'echappements), de concentration dans l'air et surtout de populations exposees aux effets. Tous ces elements font que les populations urbaines sont confrontees a un risque sanitaire accrue, notamment pour les sujets les plus sensible. Trois sites de la ville d'Antananarivo ont ete choisis evaluer la pollution des ions solubles dans l'eau dans les aerosols de la ville due aux activites humaines notamment au transport routier. Les echantillons a analyser se sont presentes comme aerosols collectes sur filtres. Afin de pouvoir evaluer ces poluutions, nous avons utilise l'echantillonneur dichrotomons pour la collecte des particules et la methode d'analyse par chromatographie ionique pour analyser des ions. Avec ce systeme d'echantillonnage, il etait possible d'effectuer une collecte permettant la separation des particules respirables (PM10) et inhalable (PM2,5) sur deux filtres de diametres differents. Les aerosols ont ete preleves a 1,40 m du sol. Les filtres impregnes dans l'eau desionise sont agites pendant 30 minutes, pour obtenir un echantillon representatif apres filtration. Certains ions: NH4+, Na+, Br- sont inferieurs a nos limites de detection. Ce sont les ions Ca2+, et SO42- qui sont majoritaires dans les aerosols collectes de la ville d'Antananarivo.
