Model for the quark propagator
Description
In the present note, we wish to demonstrate that the approximate inclusion of the color SU(3)/sub c/ structure of the quark-gluon interaction in the functional integral for the Green's function of the quark in the approximation of soft emission (with a gluon propagator) leads to a quark propagator corresponding to one which is asymptotically free (with mass, M≅300MeV) for p2 >> m/sub q/2 and has no pole (confinement) for p2 → m/sub q/2, where m/sub q/ is the current mass of the quark
