Biokinetics and metabolism of radiogallium

Description
The large number of publications dealing with biokinetics, metabolism and factors influencing tissue uptake of 67Ga-citrate could not clarify the mechanism responsible for the uptake of this compound into tumor tissue. The present paper reviews biokinetic data obtained from clinical investigations and animal experiments and briefly points out some possible pathways of the mechanism for gallium localisation in tumors as well as in abscesses and inflammatory lesions. Zur Biokinetik von Gallium und ueber die Gallium-Anreicherung in Tumoren liegen bereits eine relativ grosse Anzahl von klinischen und tierexperimentellen Untersuchungen vor. Die daraus hervorgegangenen Einzeldaten ergaben bisher jedoch keine endgueltige Klaerung sondern lediglich Hinweise auf die moeglichen Grundmechanismen bei der Anreicherung von Gallium in Tumoren. Die vorliegende Arbeit gibt einen Ueberblick ueber die Biokinetik von Gallium und stellt die moeglichen Anreicherungsmechanismen in Tumorzellen in Kuerze dar. (orig.)Additional details
