Quasi-one-dimensional plasmons in Cu-O chains as the possible cause of high-temperature superconductivity in YBa2Cu3O7

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev (Ukrainian SSR). Inst. Fiziki

Description

It is shown that the possible cause of high-temperature superconductivity of the YBa2Cu3O7-δ system is the interaction of the conduction electrons (holes) in Cu-O chains with quasi-one-dimensional weakly damping plasmons. This leads to the additional effective interelectron attraction in the amplitude of the forward scattering and promotes the Cooper pairing
