Aquatic environments and hydroelectric production: a collective stake of conciliation - Adour-Garonne nr. 127, September 2014

This publication presents various examples of management of aquatic environments in relationship with hydroelectric production: the issue of migratory fishes (existence of a convention with EDF to improve the crossing of the most strategic works), the example of the Barragary plant which joins hydroelectric production and improvement of ecological continuity, the model hydraulic development of the Garonne lower arm in Toulouse, some innovations in sediment management. It also briefly discusses the effects of hydraulic works on river flow rate in the Adour-Garonne basin, the role of hydro-peaking as indicator to measure disturbances, the adaptation of reserved flow rates to preserve aquatic environments. It evokes the collegiate approach to concessions in Upper-Dordogne to favour an easier access to environmental information, and the case of the concerted operation of draining of the Sarrans EDF hydroelectric dam
