Progress of reactor safety research within the Project Nuclear Safety

Description
The working program of the Project Nuclear Safety (PNS) consists of the following key points that are described: 1) dynamic stresses of reactor components under accident conditions, 2) accidental behavior of fuel assemblies, 3) progress of core melting accidents and release of fusion products, 4) improvement of fusion product retention in the containment resulting in a reduction of radiation exposure, 5) accident sequence analyses for the large reprocessing plant, 6) dispersion and consequences of released nuclear pollutants. Das Arbeitsprogramm des Projektes Nukleare Sicherheit (PNS) untergliedert sich in folgende Arbeitsschwerpunkte, die beschrieben werden. 1) Dynamische Beanspruchung von Reaktortemperaturen bei Stoerfaepsilonllen, 2) Brennelementverhalten bei Stoerfaellen, 3) Ablauf von Kernschmelzunfaellen und Freisetzung von Spaltprodukten, 4) Verbesserung der Spaltproduktrueckhaltung im Sicherheitseinschluss und damit Reduktion der Strahlenbelastung, 5) Stoerfallablaufanaylsen fuer die grosse Wiederaufbereitungsanlage, 6) Ausbreitung und Auswirkungen von freigesetzten nuklearen Brennstoffen.
