Estimation of capture cross-section of electrons using track parameters in nuclear emulsions
Description
An estimation of the proper magnitude of the capture cross-section of electrons at the traps in silver bromide grains of a nuclear emulsion has been made. A magnitude of the order of 10-15 cm2 (in the interval 3x10-15 - 5x3-15 cm2) when used for calculating the grain density and mean gap length parameters, is found to give a satisfactory agreement with the observed experimental data.
