Process and device for ultrasonic testing of tube wall thickness etc
Description
The non-destructive ultrasonic test working with pulse echoes offers the clear possibility of distinguishing thin places due to corrosion or due to other irregularities, such as welds, for example, from the normal wall thickness. For this purpose a further power pulse is sent along a path, whose angle of incidence relative to the wall is greater than the critical angle of refraction, and this is evaluated together with the testing pulse. The second power pulse can be produced from the testing pulse by reflecting surfaces. (RW)

Die mit Impulsechos arbeitende zerstoerungsfreie US-Pruefung bietet eine einwandfreie Unterscheidungsmoeglichkeit duenner, durch Korrosionsfrass entstandener oder durch andere Unregelmaessigkeiten, wie z.B. Schweissnaehte, gebildeter Stellen von der normalen Wandstaerken. Hierzu wird ein weiterer Energieimpuls entlang einem Weg, dessen Einfallswinkel in bezug auf die Wand groesser ist als der kritische Brechwinkel, ausgesandt und mit dem Untersuchungsimpuls gemeinsam ausgewertet. Der zweite Energieimpuls kann aus dem Untersuchungsimpuls mittels Reflexionsflaechen erzeugt werden. (RW)Files
