The relation between ternary fission and cluster decay

Description
It was found that the main ternary fission products, such as 4He, 14C, 20O, 24Ne and 28Mg, are also the main clusters in cluster radioactivity decay. This similarity suggests that ternary fission can be described as a cluster decay of the fissioning nucleus in the last phase of the scission process
