New requirements on enriched isotopes for study of neutrinoless double β-decay (experiment GERDA)

Description
One describes efforts to produce enriched germanium to perform experiments to search for non-neutrino double β-decay using 76Ge. The essential feature required of the enriched isotope is a drop in production of long-lived 68Ge and 60Co under the effect of cosmic radiation. One has elaborated and introduced a package of measures ensuring essential reduction of production of the mentioned isotopes up to the levels meeting the GERDA experiment requirements

Описаны работы по производству обогащенного германия, предназначенного для экспериментов по поиску безнейтринного двойного β-распада с использованием 76Ge. Одним из главных требований к обогащенному изотопу является снижение образования долгоживущих 68Ge и 60Co под действием космического излучения. Разработан и внедрен комплекс мер, существенно снижающих образование этих изотопов до уровня, удовлетворяющего требованиям эксперимента ГЕРДАAdditional details
