Description

The high spin investigations in 115-119Te have been performed using the pelletron accelerator and multidetector array facilities available at NSC, New Delhi and TIFR, Bombay. The level Structures have been established on the basis of intensity/coincidence relations, DCO ratios and angular distribution measurements. The present results reveal the following new interesting features: (a) The bands observed in 116-118Te nuclei are due to coupling of π[g-29/2g27/2] deformed states of even A-2Sn core with two valence protons. (b) Nearly rigid rotational bands (J/Jrigid= 0.85) have been observed for the first time in 116,118Te nuclei. (c) The 116,118,119Te nuclei exhibit single particle characteristics at high spins. (d) The ΔI=1, E2 transitions have been observed at high spin in 118,119Te, which indicate a possible structural change. These features will be discussed therein
