Description
Neglecting the mean field effects, the bosonic Boltzmann equation was solved for an expanding gas of pions using the in-medium scattering matrix from a Bethe-Goldstone type equation. The increase of the scattering rate in the gas for large final state Bose occupancy factors in nearly compensated by an overall drop of the in-medium cross section. Investigating the effect of the ππ scattering in thermalizing the momentum distribution small values of the hadronization time are needed to obtain a strong enhancement at low pperpendicular.
