Techniques for evaluating discrepant data

  • 1. Imperial Coll. Reactor Centre, Ascot (United Kingdom)

Description

Discrepant data sets are encountered in many areas of science and technology. Several objective data evaluation procedures have been suggested to detect, adjust or eliminate discrepant data. These techniques are reviewed, and assessed in terms of the published half-life data of 137Cs. A new three-step data evaluation procedure is also presented together with results of applying this method to half-life data for 90Sr, 137Cs, 154Eu and 252Cf. (orig.)
