Description
Radiation energy absorbability (REA) is a quantity similar to Linear Energy Transfer (LET) to study the safety of spacecraft in the radiation environment of space. But the equipment for REA is much simpler than that for LET, so that REA measurement is suitable for the space application. This paper describes the principle of REA detection based on the silicon solid-state detector, and gives a design of the detecting system. (authors)
