The arguments for and against food irradiation

Description

A historical review of the food preservation methods development and the radiation processing on that background has been presented. The legal aspects and international organization (Joint Experts Committee on Food Irradiation) regulations connected with food irradiation have been shown. Some arguments against the food irradiation taken from different periodic have been cited. A lot of them consists, seams to the author, in un understanding and low level of knowledge. All they have been discussed and scientifically commented, the merit explained and contr-arguments performed. 22 refs
