Zirconium dioxide interaction with Na2WO4-Na2W2O7 system melts
- 1. Inst. Vysokotemperaturnoj Ehlektrokhimii, Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation)
Description
The method of isothermal saturation and atomic spectroscopy were applied to study the influence of temperature and molten salt composition on ZrO2 solubility in mixtures of (1-x)Na2WO4+xWO3 in the concentration range of x=0.05-0.50 mole at T=923-1273 K. Potentiometric titration of the melt with the use of a platinum-oxygen signal electrode was performed. Experimental data processing permits selecting the simplest mechanism of ZrO2 interaction with tungstate melts. Basic thermodynamic characteristics of the reaction determining liquid phase ionic composition are calculated
