Description
In June of 1986, the U.S. NRC with the assistance from BNL organized a workshop to discuss the SSI licensing issues. The objectives of this workshop can be summarized as follows: 1. To examine the SSI-related licensing concerns and various procedures and alternatives jointly by the regulators, practitioners, researchers, utility representatives and other interested groups in the light of the recent analytical and experimental development; 2. to examine the areas of greater uncertainties and means to address them; 3. to review the licensing criteria in the SSI area and discuss suggestions to improve the licensing process; and 4. to present results of recent U.S. NRC research.
