Description

Full text: At the operation of nuclear power station there exists the risk of emergency emission of radionuclides into the environment that demands the development of special technologies and technical means, to render harmless of contaminated territory soil. Unfortunately, up-to-date technologies and technical means provide only partial de-contamination of soil, therefore the solution of that problem is of scientific and economic importance. For non-standard situations in case of emergency emission of radionuclides into the environment Nuclear Power Engineering International Agency has developed counter-measures for agricultural work. One of them, removal and burial of contaminated layer of the soil, is comparatively simple, but labor-intensive method that gives prolonged effect. At present is suggested the technology of partial burial of contaminated soil layer by means of ploughing that is far from being perfect. The suggested machine for contaminated soil layer burial is developed on the base of deep-ripper of RN-80 B trade-mark. Technological process of machine work is as follows. At the aggregate movement along contaminated field the post of a ripper opens the slot and loosens the soil surrounding it. Wings pack the sides of the slot forming free space to fill up and bury the surface layer of contaminated soil. At the process of aggregate movement mould-boards rack up contaminated soil layer with the thickness of about 15 cm. and heap it into the trench. The trench is covered by means of further surface treatment of the soil. A special sorbent of capacity by means of supply mechanism covers buried contaminated soil layer staving off the migration of radionuclides through subsoil waters. The suggested machine has a number of advantages compared with the already existing ones
