Critical temperature and upper critical field of superconductors for different Fermi surface models

Description

The critical temperature and the upper critical field are calculated from BCS-type or Eliashberg-type theories for two Fermi surface models: a cylinder symmetric Fermi surface and an ellipsoidal Fermi surface as a result of an effective mass model. For the latter case the effect of an anisotropic electron-phonon interaction is also investigated. Both models predict pronounced deviations from standard results and seem to be well suited to describe in principal high temperature superconductivity on the basis of the conventional picture
