A mix of fuels

Creators

Description

Power used in New Brunswick during 1989-90 came from the following sources: oil 30%; nuclear 25%; hydro 21%; coal 6%; and imported (mostly from Quebec) 18%. The author ascribes the relative cheapness of electricity in New Brunswick partly to this prudent diversification. A 400 MW coal-fired plant is to be built at Belledune
